Core Security Appoints Milan Shah as Senior Vice President of Engineering

Core Security Technologies, provider of CORE IMPACT solutions for comprehensive enterprise security testing, today announced the appointment of Milan Shah as its new Senior Vice President of Engineering.

In this role, Mr. Shah will be tasked with helping the company build on the success of its flagship CORE IMPACT Pro v9 solution and deliver new enterprise-class products that meet the tactical needs of CSOs and security professionals working inside the largest and most complex IT environments.

“Milan’s experience in leading high-energy, cutting-edge IT security companies and helping them develop strategic products that address the needs of enterprises of all sizes provides us with a tremendous advantage in continuing to broaden our portfolio,” said Mark Hatton, CEO of Core Security. “With the recent release of CORE IMPACT Pro v9, we continue to deliver the market’s leading penetration testing software solution, enabling customers to isolate the actionable data they need to rapidly address their most significant exposures, and to defend against cyber-attacks.”

CORE IMPACT Pro v9, shipping to customers later this week, is Core’s most advanced automated penetration testing solution to date, adding a slew of new features that arm testers with the sophisticated assessment and reporting capabilities needed to determine exposure to real-world IT security risks and communicate those issues to a wide spectrum of potential audiences.

Mr. Shah joins Core Security from CA’s, Netegrity group, where he served as vice president of engineering and helped elevate the company’s SiteMinder product into the leader of Gartner’s Magic Quadrant. Prior to CA, Mr. Shah was the vice president of engineering at IMLogic, where he was a founding team member and contributed to the development of innovative, enterprise-class server solutions in the messaging security space before the company was acquired by Symantec. Mr. Shah also previously served as a development manager at Microsoft.

“Enterprises of all sizes need automated penetration testing software like CORE IMPACT, which can serve as a vital component of a successful, mature IT security and vulnerability management program,” said Shah. “I’m excited about the opportunity to further develop this product to address the needs of CSOs and other security management, and to continue to forward penetration testing as a standard practice for all organizations looking to develop stronger defenses against outside attacks.”

Mr. Shah graduated from The University of Illinois with a degree in Computer Engineering and also holds an S.M. in Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
