FishNet Security Accredited by Visa as a Qualified Incident Response Assessor (QIRA)

Payment Card Processors Can Rely on FishNet Security to Provide Assurance That Security and Compliance Have Been Restored Following a Payment Card Data Breach

KANSAS CITY, MO -- (Marketwire) -- 07/21/09 -- FishNet Security, the nation's largest and most respected security solutions provider, today announced that it has been accredited by Visa as a Qualified Incident Response Assessor (QIRA) to perform forensic investigations and oversee remediation efforts following a payment card data compromise. Visa started the QIRA program to better equip clients, merchants and agents in mitigating the threat of a network intrusion and data compromise by ensuring quick and thorough remediation of compromised card-processing computing systems. As a member of Visa's elite QIRA program, FishNet Security is available to respond immediately when payment card data breaches occur, investigate the incidents onsite, oversee remediation procedures, and then provide final assurance to Visa that compromised systems have been secured and brought back into compliance.

"Being named to the Visa QIRA program validates that FishNet Security is among the best of the best when it comes to managing and remediating payment card data security breaches," said Gary Fish, FishNet Security founder & CEO. "In order to be named as a professional services firm in this highly competitive program, our team went through Visa's rigorous accreditation process and was able to demonstrate our knowledge and expertise at performing all aspects of a PCI forensic investigation."

Visa requires merchants to contact a QIRA immediately when they experience a payment card data breach. During the chaos of a breach, IT security personnel need to be assured that the QIRA team they call will immediately become trusted team members, listen to their concerns, assess risk and deliver high-value results that will restore security and compliance to their card processing systems.

"Our consultants have worked with hundreds of merchants and card processors to develop and validate policy, process, procedures, and controls that comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). We not only understand the PCI standards, we understand what our customers are going through," said Mark Carney, FishNet Security managing director of strategic services. "This experience and knowledge allows us to represent the best interests of all parties involved by helping a customer restore security, compliance and order so that they can remain in good standing with Visa and keep incident related costs to a minimum."

FishNet Security's QIRA consulting team is available 24 hours a day, seven days per week. To contact one of FishNet Security's QIRA team members, call 888-732-9407 or email [email protected].
