CHICAGO, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Cleversafe Inc., the leading provider of Dispersed Storage(TM) technology, announced that CEO Chris Gladwin will deliver a keynote presentation at an educational cloud seminar for the Mexican federal government on January 21, 2010. Senior federal IT directors and telecommunications officers will gather at the National Museum of Art in Mexico City to learn about the differences between public and private computing, the importance of information security, and the nuances of cloud computing storage for geographically dispersed environments.
The presentation, entitled "Cloud Calculation and Storage: Technology and its Applicability in the Federal Government" also will include IBM, Hewlett Packard, Cisco Systems, Hitachi Data Systems, Google and Sun Microsystems.
"As data continues to exponentially grow, governments and countries require large storage systems that easily expand while providing the highest data protection and privacy standards," said Chris Gladwin, Cleversafe CEO. "With so many large distributed data pools holding confidential information, cloud computing delivers federal governments a secure technology to meet their data growth while supplying the highest level of integrity."
Cleversafe's technology avoids the cost and inefficiency of traditional storage systems based on replication by dividing data into "slices" and dispersing them, via secure network connections, to multiple storage nodes on a dsNet system. Each individual slice contains too little information to be useful, but any threshold of the slices can be used to perfectly recreate the original data.
