- Anti-counterfeiting technology applied to Homeland Security instruction manual - Strategic shift to direct sales and manufactu

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Nov. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Document Security Systems, Inc. , a leader in developing custom-designed optical anti-scanning, anti-counterfeiting forms and documents, announced today that it is the security designer and printer of an operations training manual that employs its patented technology to prevent black & white or color copies, scanning, and digital photography of any pages within the document. The manual is being used by government personnel that implement Homeland Security initiatives and support. The technology also includes identifying markers that are unseen by the naked eye for verification of authenticity of individual pages within the manual.

Patrick White, Chief Executive Officer and President of Document Security Systems, Inc., stated that, "Our unique technology has clearly provided us the ability to serve customers that require printing applications with very high levels of security. Because of the ease and cost effectiveness of providing this technology, we see its potential use in a multitude of applications from government and corporate security, to protection of athletics and entertainment tickets and for fraud protection for small businesses and individuals. As we have expanded our sales efforts to include direct sales to end users, instead of focusing primarily on licensing our technology, we have significantly improved our ability to promote our technologies' capabilities and win orders."

Document Security Systems began shipping the manual in 2005. Additional terms of the order were not disclosed. The Company's technology is found in a multitude of applications today including U.S. and foreign currency, identification cards, financial instruments and consumer packaging.
