SUPERIOR, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 09/27/11 -- StillSecure®, a managed network security solutions and certified compliance company, today announced that datacenter and cloud leaders Host.net, Peak 10, and ViaWest have agreed to make available StillSecure's Cloud Security Monitoring Service (Cloud SMS) to their cloud customers. Host.net, Peak 10, and ViaWest join Cloud SMS launch partner SoftLayer Technologies in delivering increased security to their cloud customers.
"Cloud security is still evolving to meet the varied needs of customers," said Wendy Nather, Research Director of the Enterprise Security Practice at The 451 Group. "Just like the cloud itself, security needs to scale in both directions -- up and down. StillSecure's Cloud SMS is one of the new efforts to bring elastic security services to both ends of the customer spectrum."
The first in a series of solutions, Cloud SMS is available free of charge for cloud users and provides Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) customers with a host-based firewall management solution that can be quickly and easily installed. The solution will also be available from StillSecure partners, Host.net, Peak 10, and ViaWest. StillSecure's partners are embedding cloud security into their cloud solutions to ensure that customers can leverage the cloud for mission critical applications.
"ViaWest understands that enterprises need a mixture of technologies, including cloud. However, organizations also have serious concerns about the cloud and security," said Jason Carolan, VP of Product Management at ViaWest. "ViaWest is partnering with StillSecure to deliver cloud security solutions that will enable our colo and dedicated customers to also take advantage of the cloud."
"We've partnered with StillSecure for over six years now and they continue to be an important part of our managed security service offering," said Monty Blight, VP of Product Management at Peak 10. "As a cloud service provider, security is paramount for Peak 10 and our customers. With Cloud SMS, StillSecure seems to be targeting the right segment at the right time."
"Cloud SMS is the right product for cloud users just getting started. They can ensure their cloud instances are secure without having to know a tremendous amount about security," said Lenny Chesal, CMO and VP of Strategic Sales of Host.net. "Then, over time, as their needs increase they can easily move to Host.net and StillSecure's fully managed offerings."
Cloud SMS is available free of charge for Linux-based clouds immediately at cloud.stillsecure.com or through one of our many partners. Cloud SMS is ideal for organizations looking to secure their cloud infrastructures. Also, download StillSecure's Cloud Instance Security whitepaper at http://www.stillsecure.com/cloud-sms/.
