Gintel technology powers Dipper’s cloud-based switchboard services

Disruptive SME-focused MVNO launches in Norway with Gintel solutions

Gintel, a developer of advanced application software for telecoms operators and service providers has enabled Dipper to launch a new set of advanced business voice services for SME customers.

Dipper is a new MVNO that has launched to capitalise on the largely underserved SME market in Norway, in particular companies looking for easy and low-cost mobile services but with enhanced capabilities. In the past, advanced business services, such as those supported by PBX systems have been inaccessible to users in the micro-enterprise segment as there have been high adoption costs. Dipper seeks to shatter market preconceptions by offering small businesses access to advanced but easy to use mobile capabilities at a fixed price and with no contract tie-in.

"Our mission is to meet the needs of small businesses with a range of low-cost, flexible mobile packages that offer outstanding value. To support this, we needed a technology partner with proven expertise and a solution that could grow as we grow through an innovative cloud-based model", said Cecilie Vanem, Managing Director at Dipper. "Partnering with Gintel meant that we could take advantage of a proven solution but customise it to deliver the targeted services, quickly and efficiently."

With the Gintel switchboard solution, Dipper can offer small businesses features such as IVR / Auto Attendant, Call Queuing, Hunt Groups, and Presence Management. A mobile client is available to ensure smooth control of the service.

"We are experiencing increased demand for our cloud-based solutions as they provide an efficient way for our customers to get to market fast. Dipper selected Gintel because they knew that our proven solutions could also be adapted to meet their requirements," commented Ernst Thue, CEO of Gintel, "The combination of rapid time to market and our flexibility has enabled us to deliver an advanced suite of services optimised for Dipper's target customer group."

Advanced voice services can make a significant contribution to SME efficiency and growth. Dipper's offer is based on a customised version of Gintel's Enterprise Call Manager (ECM) solution. ECM is a turnkey inbound call management platform, designed to offer optimised call routing and advanced functionality to enterprise and SME customers. Providers such as Dipper offer subscription-based packages that deliver predictable revenue and capture growth.

"ECM enables MVNOs and virtual service providers to quickly launch services to target enterprise customers, helping them to fill gaps neglected by others" added Mr Thue. "Confronted by increasingly competitive consumer markets, we see service providers of all sizes considering how to target the enterprise. By thinking carefully about the needs of the target segment, as Dipper has done, service providers can find many growth opportunities".

Established as an R&D division of Telenor and spun-out as an independent company in 2001, Gintel has been at the forefront of IN and service innovation for over 15 years with solutions used by millions of subscribers each day. Gintel's platform independent technology has been deployed in many networks including Telenor, Orange, Tele2 and Axiata, providing the assurance that its pioneering technology is rooted in practical experience. Gintel was also recently included in the prestigious Deloitte Technology Fast 500 report.

"MobiDev is a Ukraine-based software development company. We do mobile development, and we're specialists in that. But we do full stack software development for entrepreneurs, for emerging companies, and for enterprise ventures," explained Alan Winters, U.S. Head of Business Development at MobiDev, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 20th Cloud Expo, held June 6-8, 2017, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.
Cloud computing delivers on-demand resources that provide businesses with flexibility and cost-savings. The challenge in moving workloads to the cloud has been the cost and complexity of ensuring the initial and ongoing security and regulatory (PCI, HIPAA, FFIEC) compliance across private and public clouds. Manual security compliance is slow, prone to human error, and represents over 50% of the cost of managing cloud applications. Determining how to automate cloud security compliance is critical...
Enterprises have taken advantage of IoT to achieve important revenue and cost advantages. What is less apparent is how incumbent enterprises operating at scale have, following success with IoT, built analytic, operations management and software development capabilities - ranging from autonomous vehicles to manageable robotics installations. They have embraced these capabilities as if they were Silicon Valley startups.
Recently, REAN Cloud built a digital concierge for a North Carolina hospital that had observed that most patient call button questions were repetitive. In addition, the paper-based process used to measure patient health metrics was laborious, not in real-time and sometimes error-prone. In their session at 21st Cloud Expo, Sean Finnerty, Executive Director, Practice Lead, Health Care & Life Science at REAN Cloud, and Dr. S.P.T. When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...

Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...
