NEWBURYPORT, Mass., Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Muzzy Lane Software today announced that top software publisher Strategy First Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Silverstar Holdings, Ltd. , has agreed to publish "MAKING HISTORY: The Calm & the Storm," a PC-based grand strategy game developed by Muzzy Lane.
MAKING HISTORY puts players in control of global conflict, combining a highly sophisticated AI with rich historical detail. The game is unique among World War II games in the way it challenges gamers to achieve economic and diplomatic victory, not just military success.
"World War II is a hot category for games, and what we wanted was something new and different," says Don McFatridge, president of Strategy First. "MAKING HISTORY really departs from the traditional strategy-game stereotype in terms of graphics, interface and underlying game behavior. The content is written in XML so users will be able to easily modify the game. All of our experience tells us it's a winner."
Under terms of the agreement, Strategy First will assume consumer marketing and retail distribution responsibilities for MAKING HISTORY, while Muzzy Lane will continue to directly serve the education market.
"We're incredibly pleased to be working with the premier publisher of top-selling strategy games," says Dave McCool, President of Muzzy Lane Software. "To have Strategy First choose our product in such a competitive market affirms our fundamental belief that the strategy-game genre is ripe for growth and innovation. We're looking forward to a fantastic partnership heading into 2007."
