"The need for agile approaches to application deployment and end to end 'DevOps' is being driven by the business imperative to quickly release applications across mobile and other platforms, yet effective governance remains elusive," said Melinda Ballou, program director for IDC's Application Lifecycle Management & Executive Strategies service. "Providing specific process template guidance and automation and support across phases is key to managing execution well with velocity and agility."

ADOPT is an integrated software development and delivery solution that fosters incrementally streamlined, collaborative approach to software development – allowing distributed workgroups the freedom to choose the tools and processes that are most apt to the  specific project needs. ADOPT also provides CIOs greater visibility into software application projects with aligned compliance, faster time to market and lower delivery costs. ADOPT provides the flexibility to deploy it on premise, in the cloud or in a hybrid environment.

"Tech Mahindra is breaking new ground by releasing a comprehensive ALM and DevOps solution, we are excited to provide the platform for Tech Mahindra's new ADOPT initiative that will help our clients' development teams across the globe be more productive, collaborative and agile," said David Parker, vice president, GM APAC for CollabNet.

ADOPT solution highlights:

  • Integrated Orchestration – ADOPT provides seamless, end-to-end integration of process and tools from idea to deployment, including service simulation, environment provisioning and release automation.
  • Multiple Tool Options – ADOPT comes with option of multiple native integrated tools and an open architecture allowing integration with existing tools.
  • Cloud Ready – ADOPT is cloud ready, allowing both development and deployment over the cloud.
  • Single source of Information – ADOPT serves as a centralized information hub for stakeholders across the value chain – from business to operations – ensuring the elimination of information silos.
  • Continuous Delivery as a Service – ADOPT is offered through a predefined catalogue of services, including: idea to task, task to package, and package to deployment.

"ADOPT is a testament to the underlying capability and flexibility of CollabNet TeamForge, on which the solution is built," said Hari Thalapalli, global head of the business and technology consulting group for Tech Mahindra. "By combining Tech Mahindra and CollabNet's strengths of consulting and tooling into one solution, we have the capability to enable continuous delivery for any organization."

Tech Mahindra and CollabNet partnered to bring cloud-based technical and service offerings to global IT organizations that are moving Agile, DevOps and other strategic initiatives to the cloud. In addition, CollabNet's global services team is now available to provide public and private training courses focused on accelerated agile success worldwide, including Certified Scrum Training.

"When we asked our customers what were the organizational problems behind any agile project failure, majority of the respondents cited the failure to integrate the right tools and people," said Durga Sammeta, senior director, strategic alliances for CollabNet. "ADOPT solves this challenge by providing a platform that allows individual teams to choose the tools they want and easily collaborate with tens of thousands of team members around the globe."

There are so many connected products already in place today with many hundreds more on the h...
The standardization of container runtimes and images has sparked the creation of an almost overwhelming number of new open source projects that build on and otherwise work with these specifications.
