Lawyers Links, LLC announced today a strategic marketing relationship with the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals (Society). Through this newly formed relationship, Society members will benefit from special subscription offerings and perform comprehensive legal research with greater ease and relevance.
LawyerLinks Advantage(sm) is an Internet service for legal practitioners that uniquely organizes content into topic pages designed by the company’s team of legal editors. Information is organized the way corporate secretaries and governance professionals work, so searches are comprehensive, 100% relevant and fast.
Eric Korb, Managing Partner and co–founder of Lawyer Links, explains: "Beginning last June, we started participating in Society events throughout the US to better understand the needs of Society members. Our goal was to learn how to tailor our service for Society members. Those efforts have proven successful, as Lawyer Links recently signed on Society members at Chevron and Microsoft.”
This announcement is particularly timely, since many Society members are currently preparing their 2008 Proxy Statements. Members looking for new SEC disclosure requirements, S-K items and related SEC interpretations, CD&A and other executive compensation disclosure precedent will now be only a few clicks away from authoritative sources while using Advantage. Reviewing SEC rules, Edgar filings, No Action Letters, FAQs and precedent examples is simple and fast. Through its unique topic page structure, seemingly millions of information sources are aggregated into a single "view" on Advantage, which is exactly what Society members were asking for from a research service.
As if to demonstrate the value of Advantage based on personal experience, Geoff Loftus, Society Vice President, was searching for SEC comment letters on executive compensation disclosures. He and an associate looked for more than 20 minutes and could not find them using traditional online research services. He recalls, “A light bulb went off to try LawyerLinks Advantage – and I got exactly what I needed in about 30 seconds.”
Loftus believes by introducing Advantage to his members it will help them keep costs down while increasing productivity. “Workloads in corporate secretary’s departments have done nothing but grow since Sarbanes-Oxley. Very few of those departments have grown in headcount, so you have the same number of people doing more work. Advantage speeds the time spent on research and frees up more time to do other necessary tasks.”
Members can try Advantage risk-free for 14-days through a special arrangement offered by the Society. Special subscription pricing is being offered to members through May 31, 2008. For more information, see details on the Society's web site at http://www.governanceprofessionals.org/vendors/lawyerlinks.shtml or contact Lawyer Links at 877-651-5331.
