Alert Logic and Logicworks Partner to Deliver SaaS-based IT Compliance and Security Solutions

Alert Logic, an award-winning provider of on-demand IT compliance and security solutions, today announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with Logicworks, a leading provider of high-availability hosting solutions to support business-critical applications and content. The partnership will provide Logicworks’ clients with Alert Logic’s Log Manager and Threat Manager solutions to ensure their networks are secure and compliant with industry and government regulations.

Log Manager gives organizations the ability to secure their networks and comply with regulations that mandate log data be collected, regularly reviewed, and securely archived. Threat Manager combines intrusion detection and vulnerability management technology to offer protection from viruses, worms, and other threats brought in by roaming laptops, VPN connections, wireless access points, partner portals, and other supposedly “trusted” sources.

Both Log Manager and Threat Manager are delivered via a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform, which will enable Logicworks to quickly deploy IT compliance and security solutions to its clients. This delivery model provides Logicworks’ clients with the ability to access Log Manager and Threat Manager through a web browser with no software installation or maintenance required. The SaaS platform will also allow Logicworks to take advantage of Alert Logic’s subscription pricing, which delivers recurring, incremental monthly revenue and higher margins.

“Logicworks is committed to providing its customers with the capabilities of adhering to the strictest security and compliance mandates,” said Carter Burden, CEO of Logicworks. “Alert Logic’s subscription-based pricing also fits the way most of our customers want to acquire security and compliance services and Alert Logic’s solutions fit perfectly into our service offerings.”

“Alert Logic is thrilled to be partnering with Logicworks to deliver our IT compliance and security solutions,” said Michael Turner, Alert Logic’s president and CEO. “With the combination of Logicworks’ complex managed hosting services and our products, we’ll be able to provide customers with comprehensive solutions that protect their networks and enable them to comply with industry and government regulations.”

As part of the agreement, Logicworks will become a member of Alert Logic’s Vanguard Program. Vanguard Program members benefit from unique, on-demand security and log management solutions that are competitively priced; accelerated sales cycles and incremental and recurring subscription revenues; minimal management and support effort; and comprehensive sales, marketing and technical support.

When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...
